What is Serve Day?

Serve Day is an opportunity for us to be the hands and feet of Jesus.

For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.”

– Matthew 25:35-36 ESV

What to wear on Serve Day?

When you arrive, you’ll receive an orange Serve Day shirt. We highly recommend wearing a hat, shorts, and tennis shoes. If you’re serving at an outdoor site, be sure to bring or wear plenty of sunscreen.

What time do we arrive and where do we meet?

Volunteers will arrive at 8:30 am, we will meet at Dunbar High School Auditorium (1400 Orleans Street)

What happens once we arrive?

When you arrive, head to the lobby of Dunbar’s auditorium to check in and receive your orange shirt. After getting your shirt, enter the auditorium to mix and mingle with your site leader and fellow volunteers.

At 9 am, we’ll start our Serve Day Rally. Following the rally, you’ll meet with your site leader and head to your serve site.

What happens if it rains?

Serve Day will proceed rain or shine. We will adjust sites as necessary. During check-in and the team huddle, you will be updated if there are any changes to your site.

No worries if you’re late! If you arrive after your site leader has left, we’ll help you connect to your assigned site or another one of your choice.
